Theatre trip to the National Theatre

Last Friday, the 2IB class took a trip to the National Theatre in Oslo to watch the play "All My Sons" ("Alle Mine Sønner"). Written by Arthur Miller, the play is set in post-World War II America and deals with themes of family, morality, and the consequences of past actions.

The students arrived at the theatre, which is known for its impressive architecture and central location in Oslo. Many of them had never been to a professional play before, so there was a mix of curiosity and excitement in the air.

"All My Sons" tells the story of the Keller family and the ethical dilemmas faced by the father, Joe Keller, whose decisions during the war come back to haunt him and his family. The play's exploration of guilt and responsibility tied in well with the students' studies in their IB curriculum.

The performance by the Norwegian cast was strong, with the actors effectively conveying the emotional weight of the story. The students found the play engaging and thought-provoking, even if some parts were challenging to follow due to the intense themes.

Overall, the visit to the National Theatre was a valuable experience for the 2IB class. It provided a new perspective on theatre and gave them plenty to think about in relation to their studies. The trip also allowed the students to spend time together outside of school, making it a memorable outing for everyone involved
