On Wednesday 22.04, the 2IB class went to Nesbru Nursing Home for their CAS project. Since their last concert (Christmas Choir), the students have been visiting every other week  and on Wednesday, they decided to make a concert for the residents. Sometimes it is difficult to engage all the residents in activities, but the second they hear there is a concert happening, most are eager to come.

The performance was a true team effort, with 11 students leading the choir and one host, while the rest of the class sat among the residents to provide company and encouragement. The day was spent singing various songs, everything from We Will Rock You (Queen) to more modern day music like Viva La Vida (Coldplay). Even though the residents didn't know all of the songs, they looked like they were enjoying themselves and having a good time.

The highlight of the visit arrived during the finale “Dancing Queen” by ABBA. Despite the age gap, the music allowed for the residents and students to connect, where several residents even stood up to dance with the students. This project serves as a beautiful example of the “Service” and “Creativity” strands of CAS, proving that music creates common ground between people of all ages.
