Since the beginning of the school year, the 2IB students have had the opportunity to visit Nesbru Nursing Home every other week. During these visits, they spend time talking with the residents and engaging in various activities such as playing bingo, singing karaoke, and sharing meaningful moments around the bonfire.
For their final visit, the 2IB students prepared a special surprise for the residents. Together, they organised a 17th of May parade around the wards, carrying Norwegian flags while singing the Norwegian national anthem as well as other traditional songs. It was heartwarming for the students to see the residents singing along and greeting them with warm smiles.
To make the celebration even more special, the students handed out Norwegian chocolate hearts to the residents as a small gesture of appreciation and joy. At the end of the visit, they presented flowers and two thank-you cards to the staff at the nursing home to express their gratitude for the incredible work they do every day and for welcoming the 2IB students so warmly.
These visits have taught the students the importance of kindness, connection, and giving back to the community. They are very grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the residents and will cherish these heartwarming memories.
