On the 1st of June, it is with a heavy heart that Nesbru sees the IB class of 2020 finally graduate. Amidst a global pandemic and with their May exams cancelled, this year’s ceremony took place in Sjøholmen instead of at the school. Though untraditional, everything commenced smoothly and the ceremony was incredibly well executed, featuring speeches from the principle, who passed down wisdom from the great Obi-Wan Kenobi, and our very own IB coordinator Elizabeth Laney-Mortensen, with a closing speech from the class representative and former head of the student council board Nora Ristvedt, who incidentally also won “Student of the Year”, of which there were two of this year as Markus Fjellstad Reve also walked away with the award. Very well deserved, indeed! Nora mentioned in her speech how her class was dubbed as the “Dream Class”, however according to fact-checkers the correct term is “Greatest Class to graduate SO FAR”, as the IB class of 2021 is hot on their heels. Magne Myran and Fanny Fasting Markussen won the CAS award for their great efforts and services over the years, and we hope these acts of generosity and charitable selflessness won’t stop at the pursuit of CAS. On behalf of the entirety of Nesbru Videregående Skole, we wish each and every one of these graduates good luck in the future, and we can rest assured that they will go on to do great things in life.
